  • 2 large baking potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt


  1. Peel potatoes
  2. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise
  3. Place the cut side down and cut into 1/4 inch wide strips
  4. Cut each strip into 1/4 inch fries
  5. Rinse potatoes
  6. Place in a bowl of cold water and refrigerate
  7. Soak for 30 minutes to an hour, changing water twice
  8. Drain potatoes and pat dry with a paper towel.Preheat oven to 450F
  9. Place parchment paper over a large baking sheet and coat with a little olive oil (or spray with cooking spray).Place potatoes in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with spices
  10. Toss to evenly coat
  11. Place potatoes in a single layer on the baking sheet
  12. Drizzle with a bit more olive oil
  13. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until French fries are crisp.
